ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.  The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.

  1. Produce high quality, diagnostic images in both x-ray and CT
  2. Use ALARA
  3. Advocate for radiation safety
  4. Effectively communicate with radiologists, and other physicians
  5. Adequately use PACS, and other accesorie devices
  • Works diligently to meet every customer’s needs.
  • Fully engaged, fully aware and available to help others while on duty
  • Accomplishes tasks with the minimum expenditure of time, materials and money with service as the guiding principle.
  • Works productively while on the clock and offers to help others when work is completed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to positively and productively respond to change.
  • Participates in continuous improvement, offering and or implementing methods to improve care and service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements of this job:

Education/Formal Training:  Graduation from an AMA accredited Radiology Technology Program. Passing   registry exam of American Registry of Radiological Technologist.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Yearly re-certification by AART required.
  • RT (R)
  • RT (CT) is desirable, and gaining such certification will be mandatory

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:  Demonstrates an ability to position properly, properly shield patients, show proper use of all equipment and accessories, calculate and implement proper techniques, Give patients well understood instructions, understand and practice radiation safety for both patients and self, demonstrates excellent working knowledge of performing radiography exams on all age and health types. Demonstrates good working knowledge of all policies and procedures as related to CT and hospital wide, Understands and practices aseptic technique Demonstrates skills appropriate to the performance of venipuncture, demonstrates good working knowledge of universal precautions and practices the same 

Position:  Required flexibility in working different areas, different shifts, week-ends and holidays and in adverse weather conditions.
